These terms govern your use of Capsule. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them.

The service

Capsule lets you create shared, time-locked capsules with friends — collecting photos, videos, audio, notes, songs, and places as memories that stay sealed until a chosen unlock date.

Account requirements

You must be at least 13 years old, provide truthful registration details, and are responsible for keeping your account secure.

Your content

You retain ownership of the memories and other content you add. You grant Capsule the rights needed to store your content and display it to the members of the capsules you share it with, and to show your public profile to your friends. You are responsible for the content you upload and confirm you have the right to share it.

Capsules and members

Capsule owners control who is invited to a capsule. Content added to a capsule is visible to its members. Sealed capsules remain locked until their unlock date, after which their memories become viewable to members.

Prohibited conduct

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour on Capsule. You may not post, upload, or share content that is unlawful, infringing, sexually explicit, hateful, harassing, threatening, violent, or that encourages self-harm. You may not use Capsule to bully or harass others, impersonate anyone, share someone else's private information, send spam or scams, or attempt to access accounts or capsules you have not been invited to.

You are also responsible for the people you invite. Do not add someone else's photo, video, or recording to a capsule without their agreement.

Reporting and blocking

Every fragment and comment can be reported from inside the app, and any member can be blocked. Blocking someone hides their content from you and yours from them, and removes the friendship between you. You can review and undo your blocks in Settings.

If you believe content infringes your rights, or shows you and you want it removed, report it in the app or email us at the address below.

Moderation

We moderate Capsule. Reports are reviewed and we aim to act on them within 24 hours — removing the reported content, and suspending or removing the account behind it when it breaks these terms. Reporting something does not guarantee it will be removed.

To do this we may access the contents of a capsule, including a capsule that is still sealed, when it has been reported, or when we have reasonable grounds to suspect these terms are being broken or that someone is at risk. We may also do so where the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users or the service. Access is limited to what a review needs, and we do not read capsules for any other reason.

Reviewing a sealed capsule does not unlock it. Its members still see nothing until the unlock date, unless we remove content or the capsule entirely.

Liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Capsule is not responsible for content shared by users or for disputes arising between members.

Account control

You may delete your account at any time from Account settings in the app, which removes your account and the data that belongs to it. We reserve the right to remove content, and to suspend or terminate accounts, that violate these terms — without notice, and permanently in serious cases.
